How beautifully these two silver
trumpets depict the two stages of
the the rapture, (1) the
resurrection of the dead typified
by “gathering the assembly” and
(2) the rapture of the living by the
“movement of the camp.”
It is also significant that God
gave these trumpets while His
people were moving through the
wilderness on their way from
captivity in Egypt to the Promised
Land located on the other side of
the Jordan River.
We too are to be “strangers and
pilgrims” who are on their way to
a city whose builder and maker is
God (see Heb. 11:10-16).
Moses was a type of Christ as our Deliverer from the bondages of Egypt (a type of the world). Pharaoh was
a type of Satan who would not let God’s people go from being his slaves. The Promised Land represents
what God has in store for His people “on the other side of Jordan.” Those who went back to Egypt (the
world) and those who died in the wilderness, of whom “God was not well pleased” represent the foolish
virgins of the parable Jesus gave about the rapture (Mat. 25:1-13). Most of God’s original people delivered
from Egypt sought to go back rather than forward. They died in the wilderness bearing the testimony:
“BUT WITH MOST OF THEM, GOD WAS NOT WELL PLEASED, FOR THEIR BODIES WERE SCATTERED IN THE
WILDERNESS. NOW THESE THINGS BECAME OUR EXAMPLES…ALL THESE THINGS HAPPENED TO THEM AS
EXAMPLES, AND THEY WERE WRITTEN FOR OUR ADMONITION, ON WHOM THE END OF THE AGES HAVE COME”
1 Cor. 10:5,11
Note well that the above illustration is found in the same “16-page letter” (1St Corinthians) that contains the
subject we are considering, “the last trumpet” that brings forth the rapture. Beware that the revelation of
“the last trumpet” does not become just a “Pride” trip, for God has called us to a “Bride trip! It is “they that
were ready” that go in with Jesus the Bridegroom! The foolish are left behind! We ARE promoting a pre-
tribulation, pre-wrath rapture, but we are NOT promoting “everybody goes” that has been born again and
rescued from Egypt! When Jesus described the tribulation that is coming, He told His disciples:
“BUT TAKE HEED TO YOURSELVES, LEST YOUR HEARTS BE WEIGHED DOWN WITH
CAROUSING, DRUNKENNESS, AND THE CARES OF THIS LIFE, AND THAT DAY COME UPON
YOU UNEXPECTEDLY. FOR IT WILL COME AS A SNARE ON ALL THOSE WHO DWELL ON THE
FACE OF THE WHOLE EARTH. WATCH THEREFORE, AND PRAY ALWAYS THAT YOU MAY BE
COUNTED WORTHY TO ESCAPE ALL THESE THINGS THAT WILL COME TO PASS, AND TO
STAND BEFORE THE SON OF MAN.” Luke 21:34-36
Among the many, many awful things Jesus
described in that tribulation period would be those
things that are contained within the seven
trumpets of Revelation
Although it does not say so, it is my conviction
that these seven trumpets are made of brass.
Brass is always a picture of judgment while silver is a picture of
redemption. Redemption is not contained in the seven trumpets,
only judgment and wrath. Let’s consider that more fully:
