LESSON TWELVE:
“SANCTIFICATION-PUTTING OFF AND PUTTING ON”
Throughout Paul’s epistles he contrasts the believer’s
call to “put off” and to “put on.” Likewise in his epistle
to the Romans we this call in Romans 13 depicted
below.
We are to “put off the works of darkness” and replace
them by “putting on the armor of light.” This is the
dual process of sanctification at work. We must
initially “put off” the old before we can “put on” the
new.
LET US THEREFORE AND LET US
CAST OFF PUT ON
THE WORKS OF DARKNESS
THE ARMOR OF LIGHT
Rom. 13:12
JESUS IS THE TRUTH OF MY
I AM BEING SET APART TO GOD IN CONDUCT AND CHARACTER
BY MEANS OF WASHING IN THE WATER OF THE WORD,
TO PROGRESSIVELY BE CONFORMED INTO THE IMAGE OF CHRIST,
BEING MADE PERFECT THROUGH SUFFERING WITH CHRIST
