What Jesus taught pertaining to the resurrection of the dead taking place “in the last day” appears to have
been the common understanding at the time of Jesus, for even Martha, whom Jesus reproved for her
busyness, knew that the resurrection of the dead was reserved for “the last day.”
“JESUS SAID TO HER, ’YOUR BROTHER WILL RISE AGAIN.’ MARTHA SAID TO HIM, ‘I KNOW THAT
HE WILL RISE AGAIN IN THE RESURRECTION AT THE LAST DAY.” Jn. 11:23-24
The point is a simple one: The rapture, which is tied to the resurrection of the dead, cannot take place prior
to the event known as “the last day.” What is meant by this phrase? “The last day” takes place during “the
last days.” This “last day” is merely the “last day of the last days.” Study the diagram below for it contains a
wealth of insight into “the last days” as well as “the last day of the last days”:
“DO NOT FORGET THIS ONE THING,
THAT WITH THE LORD ONE DAY IS AS A THOUSAND YEARS,
AND A THOUSAND YEARS AS ONE DAY.”
2 Pet. 3:8

“THE DAY OF THE LORD”
The “last days” (the last 3,000 years- day 5-6-7) began with the sacrifice of Jesus Christ (see Heb. 9:26,
Heb. 1:1-2, 1 Pet. 1:20). We are nearing the end of the 6th day (2,000 years from the cross). There remains
one more day which is called “the last day” and is also known as “the Day of The Lord.” (which we will
consider on the next page). The resurrection of the dead will take place at the beginning of “the last day”
and the rapture will follow on its heels, and not before!
All seven of the Feasts of the Lord of Lev. 23 find their completion within “the last days.” The last three
feasts that are yet to be fulfilled constitute the parameters of “the last day” which is also called “the Day
of the Lord.” Within the confines of “the last day/the Day of The Lord”, the resurrection/rapture will take
place (first) on the Feast of Trumpets. The tribulation will begin. After seven years, Jesus Christ will return
to the earth on the Feast day known as “The Day of Atonement.” What follows is the last feast which is
Tabernacles. It will forcibly be observed every year of the Millennial Reign of Christ, as Zechariah 14
reveals. These “last (3) days” are confirmed by the prophet Hosea pertaining to God’s dealings with
Israel. Study this prophecy carefully, for it confirms what is stated above:
“I (SAYS GOD) WILL RETURN AGAIN TO MY PLACE TILL THEY (ISRAEL) ACKNOWLEDGE THEIR
OFFENSE. THEN THEY WILL SEEK MY FACE; IN THEIR AFFLICTION THEY WILL DILIGENTLY
SEEK ME… COME (SAYS ISRAEL) AND LET US RETURN TO THE LORD; FOR HE HAS TORN,
BUT HE WILL HEAL US; HE HAS STRICKEN, BUT HE WILL BIND US UP. AFTER TWO DAYS
(2,000 YEARS) HE WILL REVIVE US; ON THE THIRD DAY (THE LAST DAY/DAY OF THE LORD)
HE WILL RAISE US UP, THAT WE MAY LIVE IN HIS SIGHT.” Hosea 5:15, 6:1-2
