LESSON SEVEN:
“THE GOSPEL OF THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD BY FAITH”
“Righteousness” is an ongoing, progressive message
that Paul delivers in Romans. However, his initial
teaching is the foundation of a form of righteousness
that will produce total justification of the believer. This
justification has nothing to do with the works of the
believer. It is a act of faith in the finished work of
Christ on the cross to provide the cost of redemption.
Once this foundation is laid the believer moves to
“works of righteousness” that sanctifies the believer.
We must make a delineation between righteousness
that justifies and righteousness that sanctifies.
Romans teaches both.
