LESSON FIVE:
“HE IS THE VINE, WE ARE THE BRANCHES”
In order for a branch to bear fruit it must be vitally
connected to the vine. It is the vine that delivers the
life-giving substance that feeds the branch. Cut off the
branch from the vine and it will wither away quickly.
John chapter 15 tells the story of this dependency of
the branch to the vine. However, much of the content
of these verses have been used to tell the wrong
story. This is a story about fruit-bearing, not one
about departing from the faith.
